The Association of Certified Green Technology Auditors Reaches 1,000 in Group Membership | | Date: October, 6th, 2009 Source: ACGTA Press | | The Association of Certified Green Technology Auditors (The ACGTA) has generated a group membership of over 1,000 professionals on the social networking platform LinkedIn.
According to David W. Graham, the United States, Florida based professional association's founder -
"This is a significant milestone for us. We chose to launch our organization on LinkedIn because of its broad membership base of both North American and International professionals, along with its acknowledged networking capabilities. I think it is important for groups such as ours to have a social media platform as a base where members can connect, communicate, execute business and collaborate on matters of interest to them." The group's current LinkedIn membership represents professionals who are the first to be associated with the foremost individual-member base global professional audit association that was specifically created to address Climate Change.
The ACGTA's creation signals an important shift in concentration on global environmental priorities; one that now sees Climate Change, energy availability and sustainability considerations as being at the forefront of the most pressing issues of our time.
The professional association strives to be the voice of sustainability and green technology governance and to represent and provide support to sustainability, climate change and green technology leaders and practitioners across a wide variety of professions. This includes providing global standards for their certification.
The ACGTA plans to open formal members and release of its trademarked professional certification programs in early 2010. This includes it Certified Green Technology Auditor™ (CGTA™), Certified Corporate Sustainability Specialist™ (CCSS™), Climate Change Governance Professional™ (CCGP™), and Energy Technology Governance Professional™ (ETGP™) designations.
The organization is based in Plantation, Florida, USA. Its website is www.GreenTechnologyAudit.org or www.TheACGTA.org. The ACGTA can be reached at
